Therapeutic art session

Session 2 of 3 - 27/03/2021

"HEALTHY" vs "UNHEALTHY" Relationships

During today's session focusing on 'Healthy' vs 'Unhealthy' relationships, participants were
each asked to create a piece of art work on canvas using acrylic paint, a variety of different
shaped and sized tiles and PVA glue.

One of the participants from the session created an elephant (see below) highlighting her relationship with her mother whom she referred to as "the rock of the family" and went on to compare the qualities that an elephant shares with her mum (e.g., graceful, loyal, strong minded, protective of loved ones).

Another group participant created the "Tree of Life" and dedicated this canvas to her sister, stating
the following: "The sun brings new growth and development of a healthy relationship.

The dove represents peace, good will and patience. The tree with the various branches represent
various life experiences, we well as 'Healthy and Unhealthy relationships'.

Session 1 of 3 - 20/03/2021 "Empowerment" & "Resilience"

The group of participants all contributed towards the session by discussing and agreeing on the topic of the session from the start in order to create the desired outcome of improving emotional well-being, discussing personal and professional development opportunities, identifying coping strategies during challenging times and finally identifying SMART goals and tools to become more resilient in times of adversity.

The artwork produced was phenomenal and I feel all the ladies should be very proud of themselves.
